I am moderately obsessed with vintage jewelry, and period books and films. When I saw Bridgerton on Netflix I swooned for the costumes and the jewelry that Daphne Bridgerton wore. Gracious, stunning costume design for that series. So, I set out to create my own DIY necklaces and hair combs, because who doesn’t want to dress up like a regency era duchess.

WHAT YOU NEED

Necklace Chain with closure
Buttons
Jewelry Wire
Hair Comb
Needle Nose Pliers
Jump Rings

DIRECTIONS

1 Go to your favorite hobby and crafting store, search their bead section and their button section. I find a lot of great gems in the button section for projects like that.
2 Arrange them in the order you find appealing, slightly overlapping them.
3 For the necklace I used jump rings to hang them from the chain in the order I wanted them to be.
4 Then I ran a thin piece of wire through the button hole backs to bind them together and hold them in place how I wanted them to look. Simply push the wire through wrap it once and move to the next button hole making sure the wire stays tight.

6 Then trim off the wire and tuck it toward the comb to hide it and protect your skin.
5 For the hair comb it is even easier, all you need is the comb, the buttons and a bit of wire, and you wrap the wire around the comb top and through the button hole and go to the next button, tightly binding each one to the comb. Then trim off the wire and tuck it toward the comb to hide it and protect your head.
