Homemade Applesauce

SHARE

This is a fun and healthy activity that ends with eating. Nothing better than that! This project is great for toddler up to school age children and takes a mid-level energy for mom (unless the kids are older, than it is less energy for mom). The girls liked cutting the apples and dropping them into the pot!

Special thank you to: Jessica, Wellness Mama of 2 sweet girls, Minneapolis, MN for doing this great activity with her daughters.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Apples

Brown Sugar

Cinnamon

Cutting Board

Knife

Peeler (optional)

Stock Pot

Stove

DIRECTIONS

1 Put about 1 inch of water in stock pot (You can always add more later).

2 Peel and core all the apples.

3 Slice the apples into small pieces.

4 Put slices into stock pot.

5 Put on the stove on medium to medium-low heat.

6 Reduce down to liking (I like it with a few apple chunks in it).

7 Seasoning for applesauce (I do this to taste, so add a little, taste, add a little more taste etc).

8 Add in a spoon or two (Or three) of brown sugar depending on how many apples you used.

9 Add in a few shakes of cinnamon to taste.

10 Enjoy!
