Launch Party of Bloodmoon in the Bloodmark Saga at Addendum Books

A Night to Never Forget

The Launch Party of Bloodmoon.

Bloodmark. Bloodrealms. Bloodmoon. How many years coming is this moment…I’m not even sure any more. I started my Bloodmark Saga when my mom was diagnosed with Cancer…and somehow here I stood on Friday, April 1, 2016 nearly seven years later looking at all that I had accomplished. I stood in the sweetest bookstore Addendum Books in St. Paul, MN surrounded by friends, family, and fans. Each one of these people my novels had touched. It was humbling and beautiful.

I wanted to have cupcakes at the party, because lets face it, cupcakes are a girls best friend. My friend Katy owns Angel Food Bakery in Minneapolis, MN and I went to her asking for help. Well as you can see from the photos she did so much better than that! Cupcakes and a beautiful tiered cake decorated with such an attention to detail. And let me tell you, it was delicious. I may have eaten left overs on my kitchen floor after the party.

I asked my friend Maria Lloyd to photograph the event and the images are stunning. She captured all the best moments of the night. A stolen moment reading to my son, laughing with my friends, talking to a thirteen-year-old fan about all her questions she had tabbed in the books, a super fan in costume, and so much more! It was an author’s dream come true. The love in that room was inspiring and you can feel it in Maria’s photos.

And I couldn’t have gotten to this moment with three published novels in a completed saga without my editor Amy Quale and Wise Ink Publishing. Those brainy-beauties brought my dreams to life. It’s funny really, they are more like psychologists than anything, I swear part of their job is just keeping us authors feeling feeling loved and guiding us on the track to success. It is so easy to worry…so easy to want to give up…and they truly helped me through the moments of doubt. They were with me when my mom died through thick and thin they have cheered me on. I am proud to say that my first novel, Bloodmark was their first novel as they started their entrepreneurial journey with Wise Ink, and look at them now! Successful women entrepreneurs! So proud of these ladies.

Finishing a saga after years of living with those characters, felt like I was standing at my doorway watching my children go off to college and I was waving erratically to them calling out, “be careful out there!” LOL! It is truly an odd, exciting, humbling, terrifying and delightful experience.

There are so many people to thank for this journey and for the night. Success is only enjoyable when you’re surrounded by love and faith. Kisses all around! My friends and family who cheered me on through the darkest and most unlikeliest of times and to my fans who love Ashling and Grey as much as I do. They laughed with my characters and cried with them just as I did when I wrote the series. I couldn’t be more proud to say thank you, to you my dear fans. From the bottom of my heart you made this journey so worth it!
